This is the prompting post!
Prompts can be from any fandom. Please read the rules post first.
When leaving prompts, please leave them in the following form: Fandom, characters, prompt.
Crossovers should be left in the following form: Crossover, fandom a/fandom b, characters, prompt. (please put fandoms in alphabetical order)
RPF prompts should be left in the following form: RPF, fandom(s), characters, prompt.
You can leave as many prompts per comment as you like and as many prompts in one comment as you like! You do not have to plan to claim prompts in order to post prompts and posting prompts does not mean you have to participate in the claiming round. If you wish to recycle prompts from previous rounds of queer_fest or lgbtfest, you are welcome to do so.
Any questions/concerns about prompts should go to the rules post or via pm to the mod account. The rules post has been set to screen all comments to preserve privacy. If it's just a general question and not a problem with a prompt, it will be unscreened. Please contact us if you have a problem.
Things to keep in mind:
- Comics fandoms: When prompts are compiled for claiming, all Marvel comics will be grouped together by universe - i.e., Marvel 616 or Marvel Ultimates, including the X-Men. The same is true for the DC Comics universe. Movies will be grouped together as well. The Avengers movies will be grouped together, but the X-Men and Spider-Man movies will be listed separately because they are not the same 'verse. Likewise, the Nolan Batman movies and Superman movies will be listed separately from the comics and from each other. So if you want to keep that in mind when you are prompting, that's great! If you don't, that's fine, too, and we'll take care of it during the compiling period.
- This year, we are trying out anon commenting for the first time, due to the LJ situation. Anon comments are screened, and will be unscreened as soon as they are approved. If you post anon prompts, please do check back to see if we have any questions about your prompts.
EDITED: You are welcome to add new prompts throughout the prompting period but please do so in a new comment. Do not reply to your old comment or edit your old prompt. We are trying a new way of compiling prompts this year, so we may miss your prompt if you go back and reply to yours or edit your prompt. Just leave a new comment, please.
Prompting is over! Claiming will open on Monday, March 18.

Date: 2013-03-02 03:40 pm (UTC)Jeeves and Wooster/Jeeves PG Wodehouse, Honoria Glossop (and any others), Happily engaged to handsome, intelligent Blaine, she wakes nightly from dreams about sexual encounters with women. What’s a sporty bisexual virgin to do?
Jeeves and Wooster/Jeeves PG Wodehouse, Rosie M Banks/Aunt Dahlia, The real reason the famous lady novelist gave up her French chef, Anatole, and never wrote a serial for Milady’s Boudoir.
Jeeves and Wooster/Jeeves PG Wodehouse, Stilton Cheesewright, Bertie Wooster, Jeeves, Florence Craye. Stilton is, as many have pointed out, a ‘splendid physical specimen.’ Bertie certainly agrees. They were friends at school together before Florence stirred up jealousy between them. While on his errand for Lord Worplesdon, Jeeves sees them in delicto flagrante near the burned ruins of ‘Wee Nooke.’ Scales fall from various eyes.
Jeeves and Wooster/Jeeves PG Wodehouse, Bertie, Jeeves, Aunt Dahlia, While visiting at Brinkley Court, Jeeves and Bertie are ‘caught in the act’ by Aunt Dahlia who takes each of them aside and lectures them about the dangers of their forbidden love. They convince her that the situation was completely innocent (it was), but the lecture casts a new light on their home life.
Jeeves and Wooster/Jeeves PG Wodehouse, Jeeves, Bertie, Bingo Little, Rosie Banks, Established relationships. Bertie grows suspicious when Bingo keeps insisting that Jeeves accompany him on all their visits. It’s hard enough being a chap in love with another chap that dare not speak its whatsit, especially when there might be whatisting with Bingo, but what’s a fellow to do when famous novelist Rosie M Banks threatens to have Jeeves put away as an invert to save her marriage?
Jeeves and Wooster/Jeeves PG Wodehouse, Bertie, Jeeves. Jeeves hardens himself to the fact that Bertie only has casual sexual relationships—the ‘Bohemian revels’ that bring him to Paris. Bertie, meanwhile, is deeply in love with Jeeves but hesitant to endanger him by beginning an illegal sexual liaison.
Jeeves and Wooster/Jeeves PG Wodehouse, Bertie, Jeeves. Innocent Bertie/Worldly Jeeves. Bertie wears a flambouyant piece of clothing during a visit to Antibes and is, rather forcibly, propositioned by an older chap wearing a yellow velvet morning suit. Jeeves comes to his rescue and finally explains how certain individuals might view his ‘fruitier’ articles of clothing.
Jeeves and Wooster/Jeeves PG Wodehouse, (pick some) Florence Craye, Gwladys Pendlebury (the artist), Daphne Dolores Morehead, Daphne Dalgleish, Angela Travers, Stiffy Bing, Madeline Bassett, Honoria Glossop, Cora Bellinger, Emerald Stoker, Pauline Stoker, Daphne Braithwaite. The Bechdel Meeting: the Wodehouse ladies gather together, ostensibly to bemoan their heartbreaks by various Drones, but instead discuss their real sexual preferences.

This prompt, with the word "forcibly," has shades of victim blaming with it. Can you please reword the prompt? We don't want to include anything that implies that a person's attire determines whether or not they are victims of sexual assault.

Date: 2013-03-14 04:38 pm (UTC)I think I see where mods are coming from- saying the the flirter was coming on to Bertie /because of/ his clothing item AND that the flirting was not desired makes it sound like it's Bertie's fault, which is a PC no-no.
However, I don't see why this should disclude the prompt. If I'm interpreting it right, the prompter wants to highlight Bertie's lack of understanding of the culture and have Jeeves explain it to him, something pretty common in this universe. In fact, Bertie ends up in an undesired engagement several times in the series, often through his own conversational mistakes. I don't think the prompter was victim-blaming, but being true to Bertie's unfortunate occasional naivety.
I think the question comes down to victim blaming versus incorrect gaydar.
