This is the prompting post!
Prompts can be from any fandom. Please read the rules post first.
When leaving prompts, please leave them in the following form: Fandom, characters, prompt.
Crossovers should be left in the following form: Crossover, fandom a/fandom b, characters, prompt. (please put fandoms in alphabetical order)
RPF prompts should be left in the following form: RPF, fandom(s), characters, prompt.
You can leave as many prompts per comment as you like and as many prompts in one comment as you like! You do not have to plan to claim prompts in order to post prompts and posting prompts does not mean you have to participate in the claiming round. If you wish to recycle prompts from previous rounds of queer_fest or lgbtfest, you are welcome to do so.
Any questions/concerns about prompts should go to the rules post or via pm to the mod account. The rules post has been set to screen all comments to preserve privacy. If it's just a general question and not a problem with a prompt, it will be unscreened. Please contact us if you have a problem.
Things to keep in mind:
- Comics fandoms: When prompts are compiled for claiming, all Marvel comics will be grouped together by universe - i.e., Marvel 616 or Marvel Ultimates, including the X-Men. The same is true for the DC Comics universe. Movies will be grouped together as well. The Avengers movies will be grouped together, but the X-Men and Spider-Man movies will be listed separately because they are not the same 'verse. Likewise, the Nolan Batman movies and Superman movies will be listed separately from the comics and from each other. So if you want to keep that in mind when you are prompting, that's great! If you don't, that's fine, too, and we'll take care of it during the compiling period.
- This year, we are trying out anon commenting for the first time, due to the LJ situation. Anon comments are screened, and will be unscreened as soon as they are approved. If you post anon prompts, please do check back to see if we have any questions about your prompts.
EDITED: You are welcome to add new prompts throughout the prompting period but please do so in a new comment. Do not reply to your old comment or edit your old prompt. We are trying a new way of compiling prompts this year, so we may miss your prompt if you go back and reply to yours or edit your prompt. Just leave a new comment, please.
Prompting is over! Claiming will open on Monday, March 18.

Date: 2013-03-15 06:03 pm (UTC)Luna sometimes runs into trouble because she doesn't think in term of gender divisions or really understand them. So the all (or mostly) heterosexul mating dance that is the Yule Ball puzzles her greatly. She had thought each house was subdivided into seperate dorm rooms somewhat arbitrarily. So why is it that who you are expected to ask to the dance is limited by which dorm room they live in? (Referring to divisions of Ravenclaw girls dorm, Ravenclaw boys, Hufflepuff girls, etc...) It's up to the writer whether Luna figures out that the division is based on a couple arbitrary physical features.

Les Miserables: Marius has this idea that if he acts really really excited and totally head-over-heels about a girl he'll start believing it soon. This also involves trying to believe it means nothing that he actually is really really excited and totally head-over-heels about Enjolras. None of it is working.

Cabin Pressure, Martin Crieff, now that he has a girlfriend, he's not queer anymore, right? It's such a relief! Except for the times when it isn't, which is more or less all of the time.
Cabin Pressure, Martin Crieff/any male character, as long as he can define what they're doing as kink, not sex, he's fine with it, and the internalized homophobia doesn't get too bad. But that line blurs pretty quickly.
Cabin Pressure, Martin Crieff, Martin wouldn't be so sensitive about his height if it wasn't for the fact that it might start people wondering why he never has to shave. Thankfully his voice has always been deep...

Red Dwarf, Arnold Judas Rimmer, Io is the place in the solar system where prejudice went to die, and it's where Rimmer grew up. As he sees it, just because the rest of human civilization is dead, doesn't mean they aren't still judging him for being gay.
Red Dwarf, Arnold Judas Rimmer, he's tried to reprogram himself to not be gay anymore, more than once. It's never worked.
Red Dwarf, Arnold Judas Rimmer, the only way he can deal with a gay identity, is to enforce very strict codes of conduct upon himself. Gay people dress, act and behave in a certain way, as Rimmer sees it, so now, so must he!
